i just started an errand running business and am thinking of ways to advertise it. One things I’ve read online is that going door to door really gets a lot of customers. I am thinking about trying this but have a few concerns.

First of all, we really dont have anyone going door to door in my area.. so im not sure how people will respond.

Secondly, I am a 24 year old female, so i wonder how safe this is.
i didn’t say anything about mailboxes… i know that is illegal.

On my doorknob (to my room) the door closes. However when i lock it, i can push down on the handle and the slider thing in the door inches back slightly to allow the door to open, even though it is locked. I have a feeling its because the slider thing isn’t coming out of the door all of the way.

How do i fix that? Any other ideas of what it could be? Please help!
