How do I make a door more appealing?

My bedroom door is really old and the white paint is starting to chip off. I don’t have the money to replace my door and I don’t really want to repaint it. Does anyone have ideas that I could use to make it look more attractive?

I know you dont want to buy a new door, but check your home improvement warehouses. Some have doors for less than $40. It would be cheaper than any treatment I could think of.

We had an old box that was painted and wanted to update it. We got some wood veneers thru mail order, cut insets to size and basically ironed them on. Solid sheets of glued veneers are available, some in large sizes and all types of wood. The inlay combination of light and dark wood was just gorgeous, and has lasted over 20 years. That could be used on the door I think, with maybe a polymer finish to protect it

There are some cool paint kits available at the craft store the “crackle” the paint or other easy techniques. I have used some They are fun and look great. Check into those. I also agree with the other poster that said to replace the door is cheap. Check that and compare prices. Have fun!
