Why do my automatic door locks on my Dodge avenger not work correctly?

Every time I use my key remote, the automatic door locks unluck, and then lock two seconds later. I have to open the door quickly, or use the key manually to get in the door.

Even when I am inside, I hit the button on the door to let a friend in the passenger, and the same thing happens. I have to hold down the button or manually open the passenger side door.

Take it to the dealer and have them look at it. Being that it is a dodge avenger it is probably still under warranty.

Look at the door pin switches located by latch striker in the door jamb. I’m guessing it’s a 95-98 avenger? There is two Different switch’s One for the drivers door and one for the passenger door. They will cause that problem because they aren’t sensing the door is closed in the first place. Also some time you can just unscrew them and ***** them back in. They loose continuity with ground from corrosion.
