How come the garage door is not opening and closing?
February 22nd, 2009 | by door |Jimbo77 asked:
There is a lever that actually pulls and open the garage door when you press your garage-door button. Then there is a short metal bar along the chain (long) from the motor (box) and the garage door which grips the metal bar so it opens and closes the garage. This short metal bar runs when the garage door button is pressed along the chain, but it is not gripping as it should hence, the door is not opening and closing. Anyone has solution how to fix this ? I would appreciate the correct suggestion. Thank you.

That short metal bar needs to be reconnected to the chain drive. Make sure the garage door is shut and opener is in the down position. Lift the metal bar up and connect it up to chain drive, it snaps into place. That metal lever is for manual operation of the garage door in case the power goes out you can release it and still open the garge door
