How do I stop my car door from filling up with water?

I drive a late model car and for some reason the door is filling up with water. I don’t know how to fix it or even what type of “car person” to take it to. Any ideas?

    There are drain holes in the bottom of the door which have probably become plugged. Look underneath, find them, and poke them with an ice pick or something similar. If it’s not due to rust there may be some loose debris inside the door which will plug them again. In that case you need to remove the trim panel to get inside the door and clean it out. Any garage should be able to do it for you.

    the best way to prevent a problem is checks and replace your door weather strip ,the one on top of the door, where you rest your arm on when the window’s down

    I’m going to suggest that this vehicle was in a past collision, throwing out the alignment of the door to roof fit. Even a poor window seal shouldn’t result in your doors filling up with water. Doors in older vehicles have drain holes in them at the bottom. You might want to check if your door has these holes and if it does, just poke around in there with a screwdriver, as leaves or twigs or some other foreign matter may be blocking the drain holes resulting in the problem you now have. If there are no drain holes, drill a couple. That will fix the problem once and for all. Case closed.
