How to get a bedroom door from sticking?
February 21st, 2009 | by door |axlman asked:
One of my bedroom doors keeps sticking to the door frame. It’s like the paint sticks to each other. Is there anyway to stop this without sanding down and repainting? I don’t want to put cooking oil on it either.
Paraffin wax? Is this something of a liquid?

Paraffin wax at your local grocery store. Or a white/clear candle (works the same). Rub it all over the door frame and door. Works well also on sticking windows, and drawers, such as dressers, kitchen cabinets, etc… Also helps when you poke a nail or ***** into wax to help make the installing of them easier.
Paraffin wax is what one uses when they are canning such perishables as jelly and jam. It’s melted down and then a small amount poured over jelly and jam. It’s only use is to put a wax cover over the jelly and jam. For what purpose I still have yet to find out why that is done. lol Well that and a cheap flavorless gum to chew on. The box carries 2 - 3 sticks of it. So you’ll probably find it in those types of isles in the store. If not ask a clerk they’ll tell you or show you where to find it.

Check out the door hinges ; sometimes there is padding under the hinge which can be removed and give the door a bit more space. Good Luck but persevere as it can be annoying.

I’ve always used parafin wax or simply vasaline. Put a little on the end of your finger and run it around the trouble spots, works very well.
