Oh my god i love this song, its the first song i learned on drums, and am listening to it constantly. Aaron Gillespie is the best drummer ever.

Aaron is one of the best drummers, he hits the drums hard as hell yet good as hell, he can sing and play guitar. He’s practically a second Dave Grohl. o_o

My dad hates the fact that I play so hard. But when I play, I play the style of music that the bands I listen to play. Like Underoath, TDWP, Attack Attack, ect. I can play softly if I wanted to. I just choose not to.

i beat the **** outve my drums as well, its a habit, its what ur feeling, adds so much to what ur playing, specially on accents and what not, but saying a drummer that hits too hard is bad or has no control? must take alotve control to keep the sticks even in ur hands when ur playing that fast and that hard lol

you shouldnt take your opinion and try to turn it into fact. music is all about energy. aaron gillespie makes up some of the sickest beats to some of underoaths music. and don’t ever say he’s bad because he hits drums so hard. that drives me up the wall. you keep playing at a controlled level. its an opinion. drummers are different. damn. **** me off.

He’s right I play pretty hard my self but aaron does it because he is pumped and he got addicted to playing hard so it just stayed with him

I’m a drummer as well, but I do not play that hard because I can’t afford new heads, sticks and cymbals every time I drum.
I do play with good energy as well, but like I said, I’m not made of money and am lucky to have what I do.

how do you know he’s doing it for the ‘visual effect’?
Aaron Gillespie is great at drumming and he clearly loves what he does. he’s filled with energy playing great music in front of loads of fans, i don’t know how you wouldn’t be pumped by it.

dude some people just play hard.
the drummer in my band does that too.
By CStige on Jun 5, 2010 | Reply
@LTJMikey If you’ve seen any other videos of him then you would know that he plays that hard ALL the time. Not just for the “visual effect.” Hence why he’s so good.
