What is the best french door bottom freezer with ice and water in the door refrigerator?

I’m looking for a french door with bottom freezer. I recently have found that they make them with the ice and water in the door which would be much more convenant. But no one can tell me how these modles are doing. Are there any draw backs to these units? Which brand is best to go with on these type modles?

Consumer Reports - online - is the best way to find out that information. We recently remodeled our kitchen and bought new appliances. We found the models we wanted by researching Consumer Reports. Then we went to the stores and made our selections in minutes. We are quite satisfied with our purchases.

My in-laws have the LG. The LG is the ONLY free-standing French door refrigerator that has the bottom freezer shelves on rollers. Normally to have rolling shelves in the bottom French door style you would have to pay $4,000-$10,000 for a built in model. The absolutely best bottom freezer is the new Thermador French Door refrigerator (built-in model). However, for the $7,500 price tag it isn’t worth it and the refrigerator section is skimpy. Remember, when you are at the store the freezer is empty. You NEED the rollers. I would go with the LG if it is a French door that you want. My in-laws have the standard depth French door and they absolutely love it. All the counter depth refrigerators in the French door models hold considerably less. I have shopped them all and will be re-doing my kitchen very soon.
I get Consumer’s Reports. Unfortunately, they group the French Door refrigerators together with the bottom freezer refrigerators so that the best recommended model may not be a French Door. You would have to see each one in person to find that out. Believe it or not, some of the most expensive built-ins are the worst rated for repairs. I would say go with the features that are important to you. If I was buying a French Door, I would definitely go with the LG. (I will be buying a counter-depth side-by-side because I don’t have much room to pull out a bottom freezer).

I got a Jenn Air from Sears a few years ago. I love it. I got the one that does not have the ice and water in the front, and I wish I had got the one with it on the face. I have a spout inside the door for my water, and I have to bend down to get my ice which sucks. But overall, this brand is great.
